Located in the heart of Dakar, the Cathedral of African Remembrance is an emblematic monument from the colonial era. Inaugurated in 1936, its architecture, blending Byzantine and African styles, is impressive, and it remains a major place of worship for Senegal’s Christian community.

Facing the sea in the city center, the Presidential Palace is the official residence of the President of Senegal. Built during the colonial period, this majestic building symbolizes state power. Although it cannot be visited, it remains an essential historical and architectural landmark in Dakar.

Located not far from the city center, Kermel Market is one of Dakar’s most emblematic markets. With its circular colonial architecture, it offers an authentic atmosphere where spices, handicrafts, tropical fruits, fresh fish, and souvenirs mingle. A vibrant place, ideal for immersing oneself in local culture.

Inaugurated in December 2018 in Dakar, the Museum of Black Civilizations (MCN) is a major cultural institution dedicated to promoting African cultures and their diaspora. Designed to house up to 18,000 pieces, it presents collections ranging from archaeological remains to contemporary works, illustrating the richness and diversity of Black civilizations. Its circular architecture, inspired by traditional impluvium huts of Casamance, symbolizes the union and continuity of African cultures.

Located in the historic Plateau district, Dakar’s Regional Express Train (TER) Station is a symbol of the modernization of Senegal’s transport infrastructure. Inaugurated in 2019 after a complete renovation, it combines architectural heritage with contemporary technology. As the starting point of the TER line connecting Dakar to Diamniadio, and soon to Blaise Diagne International Airport, this station facilitates the daily commutes of thousands of passengers, thereby helping to decongest the capital. With its modern facilities and design respectful of history, the TER Station embodies Senegal’s commitment to combining tradition and progress.
